The most valuable topaz is Imperial Topaz which is yellow to orange in color; the deeper the color, the more valuable the stone. The most common topaz occurs in nature as a colorless crystal and is known as white or silver topaz. Coatings are applied to create other colors and effects ie mystic topaz, pink mystic topaz, silver grey topaz, to name a few. Topaz is mined in Brazil, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Russia and is the Birthstone for the month of November. |
