Quartz, a naturally occuring mineral, comes in many colors but the clear variety is referred to as Rock Crystal or White Quartz. Whether used as an ornamental stone or as a gemstone, it is widely available, affordable, and durable.
Used in decorative items like carvings and crystal balls; uncut clusters of rock crystal are appreciated for their long clear prisms projecting upward like crystal cities. Rock Crystal Quartz is found in nearly every geological environment and is at least a component of almost every rock type. The best rock crystal sources are in Arkansas, England, Switzerland, Brazil and Madagascar. |
