| Coral, used as a gem since prehistoric times, is calcium carbonate with a trace of carotene. Growing in branches that look like underwater trees, it's color ranges from white to red. Most coral is found in the Mediterranean Sea or in the Pacific with the most valuable colors being red, black, and pink (also known as angel skin coral). |
